Intensive study program (ISP) Granada
The fifth and final Intensive Study Program took place in Granada, Spain, at the end of October 2024. It was organized by the University of Granada, along with its local and associated partners. As in previous ISPs, teams from Slovenia, Finland, Poland, and Germany collaborated alongside the local Spanish team. The week began with a guided Jane’s Walk, followed by five safety walks in different locations throughout the city. Each location had its own unique characteristics and challenges, which is why students were accompanied by representatives from vulnerable groups, associated partners, and teachers. Using mapping and other research methods, students investigated accessibility and safety, taking into account the needs of different vulnerable groups. This direct contact and dialogue were particularly helpful in shaping the students’ concepts for the future. Later in the week, the groups participated in role-playing activities, which helped them envision future scenarios. They created models and posters presenting their ideas for a more inclusive and safer Granada. The results were presented at the final event, which was also attended by representatives from the municipality of Granada.
