Intensive study program (ISP) Vantaa
The fourth intensive study program took place in Vantaa, Finland. The event was organized by Laurea University of Applied Sciences. Students from Slovenia, Finland, Poland, Spain, and Germany, with the support of their teachers and associated partners, investigated accessibility and safety in the five different areas of Vantaa. The work experience was different from the previous ISPs because locations were in very different areas of the city which offered various solutions to the same aspect of the problems. Through a guided Jane’s Walk and safety walks with people from the vulnerable groups in each location separately students got to know and experience situations inside their areas. Associated partners and representatives from the city of Vantaa helped the students with further work on the project. This direct contact and dialogue were particularly helpful for the development of the student’s ideas and concepts for the final results. At the end of the week, they created models and posters that presented their ideas, concepts, and scenarios for more inclusive and safer areas in Vantaa. You can see some highlights from the ISP in the gallery below and you can check the results under the Activities tab.
