Intensive study program (ISP) Vantaa

May 13, 2024

The fourth Intensive Study Program took place in Vantaa, Finland, and was organized by Laurea University of Applied Sciences. Students from Slovenia, Finland, Poland, Spain, and Germany, with support from their teachers and associated partners, investigated accessibility and safety in five different areas of Vantaa. This work experience differed from previous ISPs because the locations were spread across various parts of the city, offering diverse solutions to the same challenges. Through a guided Jane’s Walk and safety walks with people from vulnerable groups in each location, students gained first-hand experience of the situations within their areas. Associated partners and representatives from the city of Vantaa also supported the students in further developing their project ideas. This direct contact and dialogue were particularly valuable for shaping the student’s concepts and final solutions. At the end of the week, the students created models and posters presenting their ideas, concepts, and scenarios for more inclusive and safer areas in Vantaa.

You can see some highlights from the ISP in the gallery below and explore the results under the Activities tab, Work package 4 (Future Scenarios & Guidelines), T.4.2.12 and T.4.2.13
