On 18 October 2025, 11 enthusiastic participants got together at the ZEIK (Centre for Empowerment and Intercultural Creativity) in Gaarden as part of SAFE. The idea was to come up with a vision and mission statement for a cultural centre in the area that would be run by the community, be open and diverse, and promote cultural diversity.

The mission statement the participants came up with together is based on the following key principles:

– Being open and inclusive as a safe space for all, where everyone is treated fairly and equally.
– Getting involved and being part of the decision-making process as a centre that is made possible by the local community getting involved.
– Networking & cooperation as a hub that connects existing initiatives.
– Sustainability and professionalism as it is all going ahead with public funding and the best professionals.
– Location in the district as a permanent, easily accessible location in Gaarden as a central anchor point.
