Future Scenario Workshop in Helsinki, Finland
On September 26, 2024, the Finnish team gathered with the Kanta-Helsinki Seniors to envision the future of senior travel. The goal was to develop various scenarios of what senior travel might look like in the future. These scenarios provided a glimpse into the challenges and opportunities related to accessibility.
The workshop included a group of active, talkative, and interested seniors. It began by presenting the factors that will define future travel. The presentation was based on a PESTE analysis. The workshop was interactive, and participants were active contributors at every stage. Based on discussions and reflections, the seniors selected the most important factors affecting future travel. Using a four-field model, they described four scenarios for future senior travel in pairs and groups. Finally, there was a discussion on how to prepare for these future scenarios. For example, how to act to achieve the desired future scenario.
